Russian militants attacked Ukrainian army in Donbas from heavy weapons in the past 24 hours

Russian militants violated the ceasefire along the entire front line in the main flashpoints – at the Svitlodarsk bulge, in Zaitseve, Avdiivka and the Donetsk airport. Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no losses during the last day, 2 troops were injured, according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.

In the Donetsk sector, Russian militants opened fire from rocket-propelled grenades and small arms on the Ukrainian positions near the town of Avdiyivka and the village of Zaitseve. In total, 7 shooting attacks took place in the Donetsk sector yesterday.

In the Luhansk sector, Russian militants conducted a series of intensive mortar attacks in the Popasna district in the Luhansk sector between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Over forty shells were launched at Ukrainian positions. Russian militants shelled 120mm mortars on the villages of Novo-Oleksandrivka and Troyitske. The militants also used 82mm mortars in the village of Novozvanivka, as well as rocket-propelled grenades and small arms in the villages of Stanytsia Luhanska and Novozvanivka. Furthermore, Novozvanivka came under fire from anti-tank missile systems. 10 militants’ attacks took place in the Luhansk sector yesterday and six of them involved use of heavy arms.

In the Mariupol sector, Russian militants fired mortars on the village of Talakivka, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms on the villages of Slavne, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Talakivka, Novotroyitske, Shyrokyne and Vodiane. The situation near the Avoz Sea remains unchanged, as militants are shooting day and night, actively using heavy armor. A sniper was active in Novotroyitske. Additionally, Shyrokyne was attacked by enemy infantry fighting vehicles. Russian militants conducted twenty attacks in the Mariupol sector in the last 24 hours, and 2 attacks involved use of heavy armor.
