Russian FSB comes up with another story of ”Ukrainian saboteurs” in occupied Crimea

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation claims they detained in the strategic port city of the occupied Crimea, Sevastopol, a group of commandos of the Ukrainian military intelligence, who plotted subversive action on military sites.

”The Federal Security Service November 9, 2016 in Sevastopol detained members of a subversive terrorist group of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who plotted acts of sabotage on the sites of military infrastructure and critical infrastructure of the Crimean peninsula,” the FSB press service reported on its website Thursday, November 10.

As UNIAN reported on August 10, the Russian Federal Security Service said they had prevented terrorist attacks in Crimea, which had reportedly been plotted by ”officers of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.” Further, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow would not ignore incidents like that, in which two soldiers had been killed while preventing an alleged Ukrainian terror plot targeting the Crimean peninsula. In turn, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Russia`s accusations of terrorism against Ukraine were fantasies and served merely as a pretext for more military threats against the country.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has stated that those individuals who, according to the Russian security services, were part of so-called Crimean ”subversive groups,” had never been employed by the Main Directorate of Intelligence.

The arrested Ukrainian citizens – Yevhen Panov and Andriy Zahtey – were transferred to Moscow`s Lefortovo pretrial detention facility, according to the activists of the Civil Monitoring Commission of Moscow Zoya Svetova and Yeva Merkacheva, who visited the facility for a scheduled inspection October 13.
