Russian An-2 plane with three onboard goes missing in Novosibirsk region

An An-2 plane with three people onboard has went missing in Russia`s Siberian Novosibirsk region, a source in the local emergencies agencies told TASS on Sunday.

”The An-2 took off from Berdsk and was bound for Krasnoyarsk. Contact with the plane has been lost,” the source said, adding that a search operation has been launched.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the regional department of the Russian emergencies ministry told TASS the plane had disappeared outside the Novosibirsk region.

”According to our information, contact with the plane was lost when it had already left the Novosibirsk region,” the spokesman said.

Later it became known that rescuers had found parts of the An-2 aircraft that lost contact in south Siberia on Sunday, a source in local emergencies services told TASS on Monday.

”According to preliminary information, parts of An-2 were found in the Kemerovo Region during inspection from the air,” the source said adding that information about those onboard is being verified.
