Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in all sectors in eastern Ukraine with the total number of shelling incidents being 46 times in the past 24 hours, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
In particular, the Donetsk sector was shelled 21 times, the Mariupol sector 15 times and the Luhansk sector 10 times, the ATO HQ reported.
”In the Donetsk sector, the enemy fired 152mm and 122mm artillery systems on our positions in the town of Avdiyivka. The militants fired mortars of various calibers, rocket-propelled grenades and heavy machine-guns on the Ukrainian fortified positions in the villages of Novoselivka Druha and Luhanske. They also lobbed 82mm mortar shells into the village of Verkhniotoretske and the town of Svitlodarsk. What is more, the enemy used infantry fighting vehicles near the villages of Maiorsk and Luhanske. A sniper was active in Verkhniotoretske,” the report says.
In the Mariupol sector, Russia`s hybrid military force fired banned 122mm artillery systems and 120mm mortars on the Ukrainian warriors in the village of Novotroyitske.

The Russian-backed occupiers also fired mortars on the Ukrainian positions in the town of Krasnohorivka, and later used armored vehicles. Further, the enemy opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars, automatic grenade launchers and heavy machine-guns, as well as used infantry fighting vehicles to attack the defenders of the village of Shyrokyne. Areas near the village of Hranitne came under militant machine-gun fire. Rocket-propelled grenades and heavy machine-guns were used to shell the town of Maryinka. Additionally, a sniper was active there.
In Luhansk region, the Russian-backed mercenaries fired 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine-guns on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Novo-Oleksandrivka and Troyitske. Grenade launchers were used to shell the town of Popasna and small arms were fired on the village of Novozvanivka and Novo-Oleksandrivka. Close to midnight, the enemy opened unsighted fire from a 122mm artillery system near the village of Toshkivka.
”Militant attempts to conduct aerial reconnaissance were recorded twice in the last day,” the press center added.
