Russia shelled thermal power plant of Ukraine, energy equipment was significantly damaged

The press service of  “DTEK Energo” (the largest private investor in the energy industry in Ukraine) noted that Russian troops fired at one of the DTEK thermal power plants on January 4, 2023.

“Yesterday, [on January 4, 2023 – ed.] Russia again attacked one of the energy companies of “DTEK Energo”. Fortunately, there were no casualties. As a result of the shelling, the equipment of the TPP was significantly damaged. After the end of the attack, the power industry promptly began liquidating the consequences of the Russian attack,” explained the press service of  “DTEK Energo”.

“DTEK Energo” noted that for the sake of safety, only critically needed employees are present at the energy facilities.

“DTEK Energo energy enterprises have been attacked by Russia 24 times in recent months. As a result, 26 energy workers were injured and 3 were killed,” the press service concluded.

Earlier, “DTEK Energo” noted that during the New Year’s week and New Year’s holidays, energy workers restored electricity to 128,000 families that were left without electricity due to Russian shelling.

These are 80 settlements affected by hostilities in Kyiv, Donetsk, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions of Ukraine.
