Russia shelled gas production infrastructure of Ukraine

Oleksiy Chernyshov, the head of the board of Naftogaz (the largest national oil and gas company of Ukraine) confirmed that Russian troops launched a massive attack on the gas production infrastructure of state-owned public joint stock company UkrGasVydobuvannya (the largest Ukrainian gas producer) in the east of Ukraine on November 17, 2022.

According to the report, several objects were destroyed, and others were damaged to varying degrees.

“Currently, several destroyed objects are known, others have suffered damage of varying degrees. Specialists of UkrGasVydobuvannya quickly arrived at the damaged objects. They are currently evaluating the consequences and the scale of the Russian attack. Information about the victims is also being established,” explained Oleksiy Chernyshov.

Rescuers have already extinguished the fire that arose as a result of the shelling.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced on November 17 that the Russians had started bombing Ukraine’s gas production. The Prime Minister also reported on the attack on the “Pivdenmash” (machine-building plant) in the city of Dnipropetrovsk.
