Russia not to allow Ukrainians to work without license

Russia introduces restrictions on Ukrainians coming to work in the country from January 1, 2015.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told about this in an article for the Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper.
“Work in Russia is the only source of livelihood for many Ukrainians. And Russia will have to cut off this source only due to Ukraine’s actions. From January 1, 2015 ‘gray’ [unregistered] Ukrainian workers, who make up the bulk of entrants, won’t be able to get a job in Russia without a license,” he said.
Moreover, according to Medvedev, Russia will regard more strictly the compliance with the term of stay in the country – 90 days within six months. “Earlier it was enough to leave Russia and then enter back, in order to work here without any problems for the next three months. Now, such Ukrainian ‘travelers’ without a working license will be treated by our border guards with special attention.”
The Russian prime minister has already counted that the possible losses of Ukrainians, if they are deprived of earnings in Russia, are estimated at $11-13 billion, or about 7% of Ukraine’s GDP.
