Russia caused damage to Ukraine’s nature worth UAH 395 bln

According to the data from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, more than 2,000 cases of damage to the environment were recorded during the six months of the war. The accrued losses have already reached UAH 395 billion ($10.7 billion).

The damage to Ukraine’s nature of Russia’s armed aggression reached 395 billion hryvnias in six months.

According to the infographic prepared by the ministry, over 2,000 cases of damage to the environment were recorded during the six months of the war. The accrued losses have already reached UAH 395 billion. In particular, losses due to air pollution amounted to UAH 176 billion, water resources – UAH 106.3 billion, and soils – UAH 8.8 billion.

“Since the beginning of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, we have been recording all the occupier’s crimes against the environment in order to force him to fully pay for what he has done to the Ukrainian people.”
