Russia bans freight transit in wagons of 10 Ukrainian rolling stock operators

On November 3, Russian Railways, RZD, banned freight transit via Russian territory in the wagons handled by 10 Ukrainian rolling stock operators, according to the NefteRynok professional online digest.

The ban is stipulated in a telegram circulated by Russia`s Federal Agency for Railway Transport on November 2, 2016, NefteRynok said.

In particular, the ban covers freight transit via Russia if transported in wagons of Ukrspetstransgaz, which owns 1,680 tankers and transports liquefied natural gas together with JSC Gazprom Gazenergoset. Furthermore, the restriction is applicable to Ukrros-Trans LLC, EURASIA Trans Service Company Ltd., PJSC Dnipro Starch Plant, Leasing Company LP, Transgarant-Ukraine, Reef-Trans Ltd, GE Ukrspetsvagon, TD Zakhid, and Stryiskyi Car Repair Plant.

According to the telegram, the ban is applicable to transportation of freight departing from any station in the Russian Federation and to transit through Russian territory to other countries irrespective of consignees since the moment of its receipt and until the cancellation of the ban, except for the abovementioned owners` empty wagons heading for Ukraine.
