Red Cross brings over 300 tonnes of humanitarian aid to occupied Donbas

The mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has delivered more than 300 tonnes of humanitarian aid to residents of the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, 16 trucks of the ICRC Mission drove through the Novotroyitske entry and exit checkpoint toward the uncontrolled areas.

The vehicles transported food and hygiene kits to a total weight of almost 306 tonnes to residents of Donetsk region.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on December 12, the European Commission mobilized EUR 4 million in additional emergency assistance to address urgent humanitarian needs in eastern Ukraine, bringing the total amount of EU humanitarian aid in response to the crisis to EUR 26.4 million in 2016.
