Poroshenko: we need to compel Russia to negotiate

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a demand to perform the Minsk agreements and to release all hostages, including Nadia Savchenko.
He said this in an interview with TVN-24 television channel.
“The day before yesterday I sent a letter to President Putin, one of the main elements of which was a demand not only to cease fire and implement the Minsk agreements, but also to release Nadia Savchenko and all the hostages,” Poroshenko said. He recalled that PACE is also demanding release of Nadia Savchenko, since she became a delegate to the Assembly.
Poroshenko stressed the need of implementation of the Minsk agreements by all parties. He assured that sanctions against Russia were effective. “We need to create the conditions to compel Russia to negotiate and implement the commitments it has taken upon itself,” he said.
