Poroshenko thanked Poland for solidarity and support to Ukraine during the events on the Maidan, and now, when Ukraine is undergoing complex tests in connection with the Russian aggression.
The Head of state said in his speech in the Polish Sejm.
He stressed that Kyiv expects support of Poland in search of solutions to the conflict, as well as in support of the reforms.
According to the President of Ukraine, the two countries should not politicize complex pages of common history.
“The past, even dramatic, should not divide the two peoples … We are resolute to show that we can reform the country, carry out the transformation and protect peace and democracy, if necessary – with the arms in our hands,” Poroshenko said.
He added that Ukrainians protect not only Ukraine today, but also the eastern borders of Europe.
