Poroshenko says about first priority for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that Ukraine remains a supporter of the Minsk agreements.
He said this at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on Sunday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“We will not let to disrupt the Minsk agreements. Everything should be based exclusively on them. At the moment, we need to ensure unwavering and full-scale implementation of the agreements, including through the mechanism of the contact group,” he said.
He said that “we do not see,” an alternative to the Minsk agreements. Poroshenko reiterated that according to the Minsk agreements there should be observance of the ceasefire, release of hostages, withdrawal of foreign troops, closure of boundaries and the beginning of a political process of de-escalation and resolution of the situation.
“All these questions are our No 1 priority,” he said.
Poroshenko noted, following the discussion that took place recently, that if the contact line envisaged in the Minsk Agreements was met, the territory from Novoazovsk to Komsomolsk would have been completely cleared of militants, “and six multiple launch rocket systems, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles could be there by no means.”
According to him, this area should be completely demilitarized.
The President noted that if the Minsk agreements were observed, there would have been no act of terrorism, in particular, in Volnovakha.
