Poroshenko names next State Border Service head

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has criticized the leaders of the Southern Customs, the State Fiscal Service and other law enforcement agencies for their poor performance, a Ukrinform correspondent has said.
He said that a lot of smuggled goods illegally crossed the state border due to current criminal schemes. “But I will destroy this cover of smuggling,” he said.
He said that he would sign on Thursday a decree appointing Afghan war participant Viktor Nazarenko as chairman of the State Border Service.
As reported, on October 6, Poroshenko dismissed Army General Mykola Lytvyn as head of the State Border Service of Ukraine. He also dismissed his first deputy head and Director of the Department of State Border Protection, Colonel General Pavlo Shysholin.
Under another decree, the head of state appointed Lieutenant General Nazarenko as first deputy chairman of the State Border Service of Ukraine and director of the Department of State Border Protection.
