Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam as part of his working visit to the country, according to the Twitter page of Ukraine’s Presidential Administration.
Poroshenko expressed gratitude for Singapore’s firm stand in support of Ukraine. The president of Singapore, in turn, said that the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of borders were principles that are unacceptable to violate.
During the meeting the presidents also discussed the investigation into the crash of the Malaysian Boeing passenger aircraft. Poroshenko said that Ukraine was doing its utmost to promote an international independent investigation led by the Netherlands.
“We have to show joint efforts to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies in the future,” he said.
