Poroshenko, Kerry discuss humanitarian aid for Luhansk

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has spoken with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on the phone, the press service of the Presidential Administration has reported on Facebook.
“John Kerry welcomed the Ukrainian president’s initiative on an international humanitarian mission for the residents of Luhansk. Moreover, the Secretary of State praised the actions of Poroshenko on Friday, August 8, owing to which Ukraine achieved compliance with international law and legitimate procedures in the issue of delivering humanitarian assistance,” reads the statement.
Poroshenko thanked the United States for support and told Kerry that representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) had been invited to coordinate the delivery of humanitarian aid
As reported, Ukraine stated earlier that Russian troops tried to illegally enter the territory of the country under the guise of a humanitarian convoy. Moscow later denied such accusations.
