Poroshenko: Intl community should ”revisit attitude” to supplying Ukraine with weapons

It is time for the international community to revisit its attitude regarding the supply of weapons to Ukraine, that`s according to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko who spoke at the ”Ukraine`s Battle for Freedom Continues” forum in Washington DC late Wednesday, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
According to the president, Ukraine has been able to stop the Russian offensive on the ground. ”We got a lot of support from our partners,” he said.
”Yet, I could never explain one thing to myself and to my compatriots – reluctance of the international community to supply weapons to the legitimate Ukrainian government and regular Ukrainian Army which holds the line against the attack on the international order,” said Poroshenko. ”I think it is time to revisit this attitude.”
He said every effort applied to protect Ukraine is an investment into long-term security of the West and sustainability of democratic values.
As UaPosition reported earlier, according to Poroshenko, Russia continues fuelling escalation in Donbas by sending troops and weapons there.and keeps using an escalation card whenever it wants to push for a preferred Russian scenario.
