Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has given an interview to the BBC’s HARDtalk television program.
According to the BBC, the head of state talked with presenter Stephen Sackur on Friday afternoon, before the signing of a ceasefire agreement in Minsk.
“I am ready to fight for my country and even to die for it. And I assure you that a great number of residents of Ukraine also think so,” Poroshenko said.
“I am confident that Ukraine as a state and me as the Ukrainian leader are doing everything possible to have peace in my country. I’m doing my best to stop the war and stop the massacre of Ukrainian civilians and Ukrainian forces,” he added.
