Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko had a telephone conversation with President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, according to Poroshenko`s press service.
The president of Ukraine congratulated the U.S. president-elect on winning the presidential election and emphasized readiness to work with Trump`s administration and to further strengthen the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, reads the report.
Petro Poroshenko also stressed the need for Washington`s resolute support of Ukraine in countering the Russian aggression and implementing crucial reforms.
They agreed to maintain contacts, including to hold a bilateral meeting.
Petro Poroshenko invited Donald Trump to pay a visit to Ukraine at earliest convenience.
