President Petro Poroshenko expressed condolences to the relatives of the mayor of the city of Kremenchuk Oleh Babayev in connection with his death, the president’s press office reported on Tuesday.
“In memory of all who knew and worked with Oleh Meydanovych he will remain a professional. A man who faithfully served to his city and the Ukrainian state. In these tragic days of deep mourning I bow and grieve with you. The memory of Oleh Meydanovych will remain in our hearts forever,” reads the letter of condolences.
Kremenchuk Mayor Oleh Babayev was killed in Kremenchuk, Poltava region, on Monday morning.
Babayev is former BYuT deputy. He was born on October 21, 1965 in Kursk. He headed the board of OJSC Kremenchukmiaso, and was a member of the supervisory board at Finance and Credit Bank. He has been a Kremenchuk City Council member since 1999. He is married and has two daughters.
