Poroshenko asks European Investment Bank to help Donbas

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has offered President of the European Investment Bank Werner Hoyer to consider the possibility of providing financial and humanitarian support to Donetsk and Luhansk regions affected by the actions of militants, the presidential press service has reported.
“It’s essential for Ukraine to get this support by the end of the year. It’s not just about money and investment, it’s also about the instrument of the country’s reintegration,” Poroshenko said at a meeting with Hoyer in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The head of state also invited the EIB president to participate in a donor conference for Ukraine to be held in the first quarter of 2015.
Poroshenko expressed a great interest in expanding cooperation in various fields, including the EIB’s involvement in helping develop public and private sectors.
