Poroshenko appoints Gerasimov as his new envoy in Rada

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree appointing Artur Gerasimov as presidential envoy in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine`s parliament.
The text of the relevant decree is posted on the president`s official website.
”I order to appoint Artur Gerasimov presidential envoy in the Verkhovna Rada (by consent),” the document says.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Stepan Kubiv was presidential envoy in parliament until the middle of April, after which he was tapped to work for the Cabinet of Ministers.

Gerasimov got into parliament as member of the Poroshenko Party Bloc ”Solidarnist.” He is chairman of the subcommittee on the military-industrial complex and military-technical cooperation of the Verkhovna Rada`s Committee on National Security and Defense, Chairman of the Standing Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
