Patriot air defense systems from the USA and the Netherlands arrived in Ukraine

Oleksandr Pavlyuk, First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine reported on April 19, 2023, that Ukraine received Patriot anti-aircraft missile complexes from the USA and the Netherlands.

“Patriot air defense systems from the USA, the Netherlands and Germany have arrived in Ukraine. Such anti-aircraft systems will allow to protect against Russian cruise missiles and UAVs,” wrote the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Pavlyuk thanked the partners for significantly strengthening the air defense of Ukraine.

The day before, Germany announced the shipment of the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine. Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov confirmed that Patriot systems are already in Ukraine.

The USA was the first to announce the transfer of the Patriot system to Ukraine in December 2022 as part of the next military aid package. In addition, the Netherlands also announced the delivery of Patriot air defense systems and a number of missiles to Ukraine.

At the end of March, the Ukrainian military completed training on the Patriot air defense system in the USA – earlier than expected.
