Overwhelming majority of Eurovision-2017 foreign guests mull another visit – poll

A total of 92% of foreigners who came to Ukraine to see Eurovision 2017 Song Contest in Kyiv have expressed their will to visit Ukraine at least once again, according to the poll by the Institute of World Politics and GfK Ukraine.

Thus, 34% of guests began to associate Ukraine primarily with ”hospitality and positive people,” while 24% associate it with the ”beautiful city of Kyiv.”

Another 15% of foreign respondents noted the high level of organization of the competition, 13% said that they enjoyed Ukrainian cuisine.12% of respondents associate Ukraine with beautiful women, and another 12% noted Ukraine`s lrich culture and history.

At the same time, 24% of the respondents said they had previously associated Ukraine with a military conflict.

The main fears before visiting Kyiv were related to security and war (56%), terrorist attacks (43%), and high crime rate (15%).

The survey of foreign guests of the Eurovision was conducted by the Institute of World Politics and GfK Ukraine on May 9-13, 2017. A total of 1,060 respondents aged from 18, non-residents Ukraine who came to Ukraine because of the Eurovision, were interviewed.

The respondents were randomly chosen in Kyiv in places of greatest concentration of the target audience.
