OSCE SMM: Number of Donbas truce violations 150% up last week

Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine Alexander Hug reports that the OSCE has recorded a sharp increase in the number of ceasefire violations in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in Donbas last week.

”No. of ceasefire violations recorded by OSCE SMM monitors last week [was] up by approx 150% compared to previous week,” the OSCE SMM said on Twitter.

According to OSCE monitors, the number of the recorded ceasefire violations was the highest since the beginning of the year.

”No. of ceasefire violations recorded by SMM last week was the highest number seen so far this year,” the OSCE SMM tweeted.

Explosions were caused by mortars, tanks, artillery and multiple launch rocket systems, it said.

”Last week SMM recorded 3,444 explosions caused by mortars, tanks, artillery & multiple launch rocket systems – highest ever recorded,” it tweeted.
