U.S. not to support any agreement that does not guarantee full independence of Ukraine – John McCain

U.S. Senator John McCain is confident that Congress will not support any initiative of Donald Trump that can harm Ukraine or the Baltic States.

McCain stated in an interview with the TSN that the U.S. Congress will not approve actions that will harm the freedom and independence of Ukraine or the Baltic States.

Answering the question whether former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger would become a mediator between Moscow and the United States he said that Trump will not have support among congressmen, if he wants to provide lifting of anti-Russian sanctions:

“I do not believe that we will support any agreement that does not guarantee full independence of Ukraine or any other country in the region. We have learned the lessons of the 30-ies of the last century, what means: to enter into agreements with the dictator. The U.S. Congress would not approve any action that will harm the freedom and independence of Ukraine or the Baltic States. We deal aimed at ending the conflict. However, I’m afraid my experience with Vladimir Putin testifies the only thing he understands is power, which is why we need to strengthen the defense of Ukraine and the Baltic States and to support them,” said McCain.

McCain promised that the Congress will be ready to transition to a power plan in confrontation with Russia and predicted that 2017 will be decisive for Ukraine to restore its territorial integrity:

“Peace through force”, as once said by Reagan,” said Us Senator John McCain.
