No wage rise without reforms – Social Policy Ministry

The government plans to increase by 13% all types of social payments, however, only when reforms are implemented.
Social Policy Minister Pavlo Rozenko told a briefing Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We undertook an ambitious, difficult task in the current situation – to raise all social standards approximately by 13% from December. We will raise wages and pensions. This should become just a result of the reforms. People and people’s deputies should understand: either we conduct reforms in all economy sectors, including in the social sphere, and receive rising of minimal wages, pensions and all types of social aid by 13% or we again waste time and will not receive anything in December,” he said.
According to Rozenko, currently, under conditions when over three recent years the subsidies to the Pension Fund increased by UAH 40 billion and the Pension Fund deficit reaches UAH 100 billion, the increase of pensions seems unreal.
