There are no grounds to stop a special pre-trial investigation against former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko`s press secretary Larysa Sargan wrote on Facebook.
”We emphasize once again: there is only one reason for stopping a special pre-trial investigation – that`s if suspect Yanukovych voluntarily apperas before a pre-trial investigation body in the territory of Ukraine. There are no other grounds to stop a special pre-trial investigation,” she said.
Sargan also noted that the case against former president of Ukraine would be submitted to the court in the near future.
As reported, Yanukovych`s lawyer Vitaliy Serdiuk earlier said that the investigation in absentia with respect to his client had been terminated, claiming that the ”grounds” for its continuation ceased to exist
