The European Union has approved further strengthened restrictive measures against Russia, which will take effect on Monday, a senior EU official has told Ukrinform’s reporter in Brussels.
He said that given the situation in Ukraine, the permanent representatives of the member countries of the Council of the EU approved a package of additional restrictive measures against Russia on September 5.
The package includes additional measures regarding access to capital markets, defense, goods and dual-use technologies.
A list of persons subject to sanctions (regarding asset freezes and visa bans) will also be updated, he added.
The formal adoption of sanctions will be completed on Monday, and their contents will be made public on Tuesday.
