NBU promises exchange rate of UAH 11.7/$1

Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valeriya Hontareva has predicted the exchange rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar at UAH 11.7/$1 after the stabilization of the situation in Donbas.
She said this at a roundtable meeting on Monday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Once we restore industrial potential, we can clearly think not about the rate of 12.95, but we’ll again about the sale [rate] of 11.7,” Hontareva said.
As reported, on Monday, hryvnia-dollar quotations on Ukraine’s interbank currency market at the close of trading were set at UAH 12.9550/13.1500/$1 against UAH 12.9633/13.1500/$1 at 12.00.
On September 23, NBU, at a meeting with the leaders of the 40 largest Ukrainian banks, agreed to sell U.S. dollars on the Ukrainian currency market at a rate of no more than UAH 12.95 per dollar.
