Nazarbayev describes events in Donbas as ‘organized civil war’

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is currently on an official visit to Kyiv, has said that the situation in eastern Ukraine is an “organized civil war.”
He said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Ukraine is our close friend for us and a partner in politics and economy. What happened is horrible for Ukraine, and no one could imagine in a bad dream that such a clash could occur in the country and a civil war could be organized,” he said.
Nazarbayev also reminded Ukrainians that in recent years “the Maidan has seen the events” that impeded the development of the country’s economy.
“You know that events have permanently occurred on the Maidan in recent years. Instead of improving the economy and people’s lives, you had to deal with this,” he said.
He cited an example of his country, which has achieved “tremendous success” over the past 20 years. “This is thanks to peace and calm in a multi-national Kazakhstan, and I wish Ukraine the same as well,” he said.
