“We are committed to partnership with Ukraine, we helped to move to NATO standards. The winter will be difficult, and we see that the war is exhausting. This is a struggle of will, and logistics, so we must continue to support Ukraine. A strong and stable Ukraine is the key to Euro-Atlantic security. We will continue to be together with Ukraine as long as necessary,” Stoltenberg said.

NATO Secretary General stated that eight years ago, the Russian Federation illegally seized Crimea (south of Ukraine), turning it into one of the most militarized places on the planet.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin thought he could crush the Ukrainian people and armed forces. He thought he could divide our democratic nations, and he thought he could dictate what others do. President Putin was wrong,” Stoltenberg remarked.

NATO Secretary-General assured that NATO is fully in solidarity with Ukraine, member states support the sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the right to defend their land.

“NATO is part of the US-led Ukraine Defence Contact Group to mobilize support, and I actively engage with leaders to urge them to provide more weapons, and more ammunition, more quickly.”
