The number of banks operating in Ukraine, that are licensed to conduct banking activities, was 98 as of December 1, which was two financial institutions less than as of November 1.
According to the data provided to UNIAN by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the number of operating banks with foreign capital has not changed in Ukraine in November and amounted to 40 financial institutions.
According to the regulator, since the beginning of the year, in January-November, the number of operating banks in Ukraine has decreased by 19 financial institutions.
UNIAN memo. At the beginning of 2016, the assets of banks operating in Ukraine amounted to UAH 1.254 trillion, while there were 117 operating banks.
