MPs discuss what to do with state servants’ unpaid leaves of absence

A break is announced in the Verkhovna Rada because the promised amendments are not made to the state budget and the Tax Code.
MP Serhiy Labaziuk told reporters in the Verkhovna Rada, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“A break was taken because amendments were not made to the budget and the Tax Code, about which heads of factions and deputy groups agreed,” the MP said.
Labaziuk explained that it was promised on Wednesday that the budget will not be filled at the expense of unprotected population layers. However, a provision is not removed in the law on sending the state servants to the unpaid leave of absence.
The MP explained that yesterday, an agreement was reached that such unpaid leaves of absence will be only for the central apparatus of the Cabinet and the Verkhovna Rada and thanks to this UAH 3 billion will be economized. Therefore, due to these and other inconsistencies the break was taken.
Labaziuk also said that there are questions on the GTS. In the opinion of the majority of deputies, amendments should be made to this law concerning the fact that the Verkhovna Rada should take a decision what partners should be as managers or co-managers in the GTS management. “This should not be done in the cabinet, so that the Russian Federation will not be able to manage our GTS through the offshore structures,” the MP said.
