Moscow court orders Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov to pay RUB 180 mln to Russia`s Def. Ministry

Moscow`s Arbitration Court has ruled in favor of the Russian Defense Ministry in a suit demanding that the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov pay a RUB 180.26 million penalty to the ministry.

The plaintiff initially demanded to recover from the State Enterprise Antonov RUB 357.48 million, as reported on the website of the court.

Also, the Russian court ordered the company to pay RUB 200,000 in court fees.

”The decision can be appealed to the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal within a month from the date of its adoption,” reads the ruling.

According to the case materials, in 1989 the two parties signed off an agreement on construction of an An-70 aircraft, but the work ”has not been completed”, Gazeta.ru reported.

The Defense Ministry filed a lawsuit against Antonov in 2015.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the state-owned Antonov won a dispute in the Russian Federation won the dispute against the Russian company Aviacor – Aviation Plant in the case regarding payments of royalties for the use of the trademark in aircraft manufacturing.
