Mogherini expects constructive and consensus decision of EU Council on Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini have agreed to continue close coordination of efforts to respond to the threat of terrorism and to promote a comprehensive and peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas.
Poroshenko and Mogherini discussed this in a telephone conversation, the presidential press service reported.
“Poroshenko thanked Federica Mogherini for her efforts to convene an extraordinary meeting of the EU Council on Foreign Affairs, which will consider the situation in Ukraine and discuss the EU’s reaction to the terrorist attack on Mariupol,” reads the statement.
Federica Mogherini, in turn, expressed the hope that the EU Council at the Foreign Ministers level will be able to take a constructive and consensus decision.
