Minsk accords need urgent progress: Merkel

All parties need to urgently make progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in an interview with Rhein-Nektar Zeitung.

”The process continues. The Minsk agreements remain the basis for our ongoing efforts. They are recognized by all parties,” she stated.

”They contribute to the fact that it is possible to prevent even greater bloodshed. However, it is true that we need to make progress on an urgent basis,” Merkel stressed.

”Therefore, I will continue to work together with the presidents of France, Ukraine and Russia for the sake of peace in Ukraine,” the German Chancellor added.
