Militants attack ATO forces 31 times in last day, fire artillery, grenade launchers near Shyrokyne

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 31 times in the past 24 hours, using banned weapons, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
”The militants used heavy artillery systems, which is prohibited by the Minsk agreements,” the report says.
”The invaders continued to attack the town of Avdiyivka and its vicinities. Last night, they fired heavy machine guns, grenade launchers and 82mm mortars on our fortified positions in the area,” the press center said.
The Russian-backed mercenaries fired the same types of weapons on the Ukrainian units near the town of Krasnohorivka. They also opened fire from anti-aircraft guns.
”The situation was most tense in the Mariupol sector last night, in particular near the village of Shyrokyne. Having fired rocket-propelled grenades several times on our fortified positions near this village, the Russian-backed gangs attacked the Ukrainian defenders, using 152mm artillery systems,” the press center said.
In addition, near the village of Novotroyitske, the enemy again used 82mm and 120mm mortars, as well as anti-tank missile systems near the village of Pavlopil.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian army recorded five reconnaissance overflights by enemy drones, two of which were moving from the territory of the Russian Federation.
”In Luhansk region, the situation was rather quiet overnight. However, early in the morning, the militants opened fire from small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on our positions near the town of Schastia and the village of Happiness and Sokilnyky,” the press center said.
