“Thanks to technical assistance, government institutions, critical infrastructure and other sectors in Ukraine will continue to use digital infrastructure and work in the Microsoft cloud services free of charge. The company will also help with the curation and implementation of digital sectors such as cyber, justice, customs, medicine and education,” explained the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.

Brad Smith, the Vice Chairperson of Microsoft also commented on the provision of assistance.

“Part of what this war has shown is that one needs to move services to the cloud in a time of war to ensure their resilience and security. The new commitment would enable the government and other businesses in Ukraine to continue to run their services and serve Ukraine citizens,” added Brad Smith, the Vice Chairperson of Microsoft.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine noted that Microsoft has provided Ukraine with more than 400 million dollars in support since the beginning of the full-scale war. The company became one of the first to suspend all new sales of products and services in Russia at the beginning of March.
