Merkel confirms meeting with Putin in Milan

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday as part of the ASEM summit in Milan (Italy).
She announced this at a press conference in Berlin on Wednesday, Ukrinform’s correspondent reported.
“There are plans to hold talks with the Russian president. I expect an open exchange of ideas and successes in the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Merkel said.
She said that Russian gas supplies to Ukraine would also be the subject of negotiations.
The leaders of Germany and Russia last met in July in Rio de Janeiro during the World Cup.
