Mariupol shelled from militants territory – NATO Secretary General

Artillery attacks on Mariupol on Saturday were carried out from the territory controlled by pro-Russian separatists.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this after an emergency meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Brussels on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“The attack on Mariupol was carried out from the territory controlled by Russian-backed separatists,” he said.
He noted that all NATO Allies have expressed their condolences to Ukrainians in connection with the deaths of civilians in Mariupol.
Stoltenberg reiterated that, despite its obligations, Russia continued to support the separatists with weapons and troops.
“In recent weeks, Russia has supplied hundreds of modern weapons units, including missile systems, heavy artillery, tanks, armored vehicles and electronic warfare system,” Stoltenberg said.
