Lukashenko: It is impossible to balance situation in Ukraine without U.S.

It is impossible to balance the situation in Ukraine without the United States, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Dr. Michael Carpenter on Wednesday, BelTA has reported.
Lukashenko said that sooner or later the threats emerging in Eastern Europe can have a strong impact on the situation in Europe in general, BelTa wrote.
”It is impossible to balance the situation here, I mean the situation in Ukraine and other trends, without the U.S.,” he said.
He stressed that he was firmly confident in it and reminded that he had spoken about it in public several times even before the Normandy Four summit took place in Minsk.
”If the United States wants to stop the war in eastern Ukraine in the near future and make a few steps in this direction, the bloodshed will be stopped there,” Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian side is not overenthusiastic about the activation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the so-called promotion of NATO in the East.
”We cannot but respond to it because it happens near our borders,” the Belarusian leader said.
He added that he does not want to demonize or exaggerate this process.
Lukashenko does not think that NATO is going to fight against Russia or Belarus.
”It is impossible and unnecessary in the current conditions,” he said.
Besides, the Belarusian head of state is convinced that neither the U.S. nor Europe needs another conflict in the Eastern European region.
”I believe, and it is declared in the policy of the U.S., that America absolutely wants peaceful and independent Belarus,” Lukashenko said.
The President believes that the United States wants peace and accord in Europe.
