Local official in Donbas tries to bribe SBU officer. Gets arrested by SBU

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) together with the Military Prosecutor`s Office of the ATO forces have detained a deputy of the Toretsk City Council, who offered a $20,000 bribe to an SBU officer, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
The deputy offered $20,000 to an SBU official for assistance in closing the criminal case opened under Part 1, Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture or sale of excise goods), the press center of the SBU said.
Law enforcers detained the deputy in his vehicle, in the town of Kramatorsk, upon his attempt to hand over the money to an SBU employee, who had informed his colleagues of the shady ”proposal.”
Criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 1, Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions are underway.
