List of top Ukraine’s lobbyists published

President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite ranks the first in the Top-10 lobbyists of Ukraine in the world for year 2014.
This has been reported by director of the World Policy Institute Olena Hetmanchuk, presenting the results of the annual expert survey.
“The ranking for 2014 is unique. Eight out of ten names in the current ranking appears in it for the first time. Among the two, who remain from the previous rankings, are Dalia Grybauskaite (the first place) and Carl Bildt. In addition, not a single representative of the traditional Ukraine’s lobbyist abroad, Poland, was included in the ranking for the first time. However, the list includes many representatives of the United States,” Hetmanchuk said.
According to the survey, former Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt takes the second place, and U.S. Republican Senator John McCain takes the third. American historian, Professor Timothy Snyder of Yale University takes the fourth place in the ranking. The only Ukrainian in the ranking, President Poroshenko, takes the fifth place. German Chancellor Angela Merkel takes the sixth place, the Open Society Foundation founder George Soros takes the seventh place, U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden – the eighth, U.S. Democratic Senator Robert Menendez – the ninth, Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper – the tenth.
As noted by the World Policy Institute, the formal evaluation criteria have remained unchanged: the constant involvement in Ukrainian issues at the international level and promoting Ukraine and its European integration at international platform. However, due to annexation of Crimea and Russia’s war against Ukraine in Donbas, another informal criterion has appeared – the public defense of Ukraine’s position in the diplomatic, informational and intellectual war initiated by Russia, in the international arena.
45 Ukrainian and foreign experts took participation in the survey.
