Latvian prosecutor`s office has brought charges against the person who organized illegal trips to Crimea in violation of EU sanctions imposed against Russia for the occupation of Ukraine`s Crimean peninsula, according to Delfi.
In late April, the Security Police appealed to the prosecutor`s office of the Riga judicial district concerning criminal prosecution of a person who had organized tourist trips to Crimea.
Riga district prosecutor`s office has indicted a person who is accused of organizing trips to Crimea.
Criminal proceedings were initiated on the fact of violation of the prohibition of the European Union to provide services directly related to tourism in Crimea and Sevastopol.
The Security Police said that enough evidence were gathered to start criminal proceedings against this person for an intentional violation of regulations governing the application of sanctions in Latvia, set by the EU legislation and other international organizations.
On June 17, 2015 the police raided Mkbc Tour company, which organized tourism in Crimea and Sevastopol. The representative of the travel agency said that four tours to Crimea were sold in May and June. The company management complained they had not been informed it was forbidden to organize trips to the Russian-annexed peninsula.
