Children to be evacuated from Avdiyivka due to unstoppable attacks – chief of Ukraine’s Internal Ministry in Donetsk region
Because terrorists have been firing at Avdiyivka, town 10 km east of Donetsk, without cease the local children will be evacuated to the holiday resorts in Dnipropetrovsk region.
Chief of Ukraine’s Internal Ministry in Donetsk region Vyacheslav Abroskin announced the news on his Facebook page on Wednesday, January 21,
“I’m going to Avdiyivka. The town is under heavy artillery fire in a critical situation. No electricity, no central heating and no running water. The town’s mayor Yury Cherkasov addressed me and literally “cried for help,” the official wrote.
He noted he briefed Ukraine’s Interior Minister Arsen Avakov on the situation, and “Minister’s reaction was instantaneous, and now Emergency Ministry and other service teams not only from the Donetsk region provide assistance to residents of Avdiyika.
Abroskin also said that evacuation of local children is planned. “I asked leaders of the Dnipropetrovsk region for help to provide lodging for the Avdiyivka children in resorts in their region. Hennady Korban expressed his understanding and was willing to provide necessary assistance. We will make arrangements to evacuate the children,” he wrote.
