Imports of passenger vehicles in Ukraine in January-July 2016 increased by 24% to 40,995 units, according to the State Statistics Service`s website.
According to the report, the total customs value of the imported vehicles amounted to $730.4 million, which is 68% more than last year.
At the same time, exports of vehicles from Ukraine during the reporting period decreased by almost twofold and amounted to only 99 units for a total amount of $2.2 million.
As UNIAN reported earlier, imports of passenger cars in Ukraine in January-June 2016 increased by 34% year-over-year, to 35,500 units.
According to Ukravtoprom, last year import of passenger cars in Ukraine dropped by 41% to 86,492 units, worth a total of more than $1 billion. At this, Ukraine exported only 1,060 vehicles in that period, which was 3.1 times less than in the previous year. In monetary terms, exports amounted to $54.4 million.
