Hungary may resume reverse gas supplies to Ukraine next year

Hungarian gas transmission system operator FGSZ Ltd is going to resume reverse natural gas supplies to Ukraine from January 1, 2015, FGSZ’s press service has reported.
“We are ready to start the transmission of natural gas towards Ukraine from January 1, 2015,” reads the statement.
According to FGSZ, the delivery will be possible under the conditions agreed before the termination of reverse gas supplies on September 25.
In March 2013, FGSZ agreed with Ukraine on gas supplies of up to 6.1 billion cubic meters of gas per year or 16.8 million cubic meters of gas per day. Thus, it was stipulated that the system can work only in an interruptible way, depending on the current technical and commercial conditions.
FGSZ completely stopped reverse gas supplies to Ukraine on September 25 for an indefinite period, explaining this by the growth of domestic consumption.
