Great Britain handed over demining equipment to Ukraine

The British government noted on December 30, 2022, that the UK has delivered more than 1,000 Vallon metal detectors and 100 bomb de-arming kits to Ukraine as part of the country’s support for demining fields, civilian homes and infrastructure in liberated from Russian troops territories of Ukraine.

“Russia’s use of landmines and targeting of civilian infrastructure underline the shocking cruelty of Putin’s invasion. This latest package of UK support will help Ukraine safely clear land and buildings as it reclaims its rightful territory,” said Ben Wallace, British Defence Secretary.

Vallon metal detectors will help the military clear roads and trails, creating safe routes.

These metal detectors can also help clear civilian infrastructure, including homes, of explosives, allowing people to return to their homes safely.

“The bomb de-arming kits, meanwhile, are designed to de-arm the fuze from unexploded Russian bombs, munitions, and improvised explosive devices. This counter explosive ordnance equipment is some of the latest in a wide range of equipment which the UK has donated to Ukraine to support its fight against Russia’s illegal invasion,” added the British government.
