The Ukrainian government has approved a plan of short- and medium-term measures to reduce the consumption of natural gas by heating companies, industrial consumers, public institutions, organizations and the public.
The government portal reported this, citing the press service of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation.
“The approved measures are primarily aimed at creating financial instruments and mechanisms to stimulate the replacement of natural gas, simplifying licensing procedures and administrative regulation, as well as improving legislation,” reads the statement.
In particular, the plan foresees the task on the allocation next year of budget funds to cover part of loans to entrepreneurs for the purchase of energy efficient equipment and the reimbursement of part of loans to the public for the purchase of energy-efficient equipment and materials.
The plan also includes measures to develop a number of incentive mechanisms: regarding the production and consumption of biomethane, the introduction of energy efficiency measures in buildings, the transfer of alternative facilities in the field of heating to stimulating tariffs and other incentives for developing the gas replacement market.
